Joe and I came early with Evelyn on our family trip to Devils Fork SP. This was our second visit to this fabulous park on Lake Jocassee in South Carolina. You may want to check out our 2023 visit on the blog.
After everyone else arrived, the campsite was filled with all sorts of activity, from eating JoeJoe’s pancakes on the Blackstone griddle, painting rocks, riding around on kid’s vehicles, and roasting marshmallows.
We hung out at the scenic beach one day. Kellan and Augustus had a big adventure kayaking outside the ropes in the third photo below.
The kids were ready for a fun-filled day in our rented pontoon boat, cruising around and seeing the sights of beautiful Lake Jocassee.
Then we found a tubing spot. They are got the hang of it this year – they are almost old enough for the driver to sling the tube around and try to bounce them off.
We explored one of the small islands and ate our lunch and watermelon.
Next up, we made our way to a little cove at the north end of Lake Jocasse and joined the various boats parked there. Everyone jumped in the water and paddled over to the waterfall.
I love these waterfall pics. Sarah said there were snakes there, but I did not see any!
After a full day of boating, we hung out at the more private beach at the campground to relax, watch the sunset, and eat a whole bag of dried mangos.
This is becoming one of our favorite family campsites. In fact, we have the 2025 trip scheduled for Labor Day, so stay turned.

Making great memories! Love the State Parks! It’s been a hot summer for sure. Good way to beat the heat at the lakes & rivers.
