Tugaloo State Park

We renewed our visits to Georgia State Parks with a quick jaunt over to Tugaloo State Park with our two sons and their families.

The park has tons of lakeside sites. Although our terraced sites were four rows back from the water, we still had a peek-a-boo view.

Friday night we took a quick walk to watch the sun set, then we relaxed around the campfire, made the mandatory s’mores, and spun yarns til midnight.

It’s really all about the water here. We all brought our canoes or kayaks on the trip. We set out for an island less than a mile from the campsite.

We spent the morning relaxing at the island.

We spent the afternoon relaxing at the campsite.

The playground was epic, the lake was fun to explore, and the campsites were mostly pull throughs with views. This is a popular state park and books fast. We are already planning to book a waterfront site next year.
