Hard Labor Creek State Park

Hard Labor Creek State Park is the second largest state park in Georgia. It has 51 spacious, mostly private campsites, and many have some sort of water view of either Hard Labor Creek or Lake Brantley. There is also a golf, putt putt, new looking cabins, a beach, and miles and miles of trails, including nature trails, equestrian trails, and mountain bike trails.

Our second trip in Pe@rl was another cold one. We took plenty of firewood and enjoyed spending the nights looking into the fire – accepting the fire’s invitation to slow down, talk, and reflect.

We started each morning watching the geese fly in formation above the skylight in our bed. Their honking continued as they rambled back and forth from Lake Brantley at our campsite to Hard Labor Creek just across the road.

We were close enough to Atlanta and Athens that the kids came over to relax with us. We were able to pack a lot in to the visit – backgammon, chess, baseball practice, and cousin fun.

We happened to meet some fellow Tab 400 owners – Linda and Gotti of Teardrop Journeys. Coincidentally I had watched some of their YouTube videos when researching Tab 400s, so I felt like I already knew them. They were friendly and supportive. Check out their blog at https://teardropjourneys.com/ and their videos at YouTube videos at https://youtube.com/channel/UCYg1-Q26_qhIAJKKLgQtUfQ. It was great fun to meet our first Tab owners!
